Introduction

What is it?

Storage Format Editor for Confluence enables you to easily view and make changes to the storage format of your pages published on Confluence Cloud.

After installing the app, to open the Storage Format editor simply navigate to your desired Confluence page and then select: ••• > Edit Storage Format

Within the editor dialogue that appears changes can be made directly to the Confluence content. After finishing any edits you can simply select Save to confirm the changes.

Alternatively, you can also select the ••• icon and choose to either;

  • Save without notifying watchers - changes are saved without notifying users watching the page

  • Save with version comment… - allows users to define a comment that is included in the Page history. Additionally, users can decide whether watchers of the page are notified

What does it do?

Storage Format Editor for Confluence enables you to easily view and make changes to the storage format of your pages published on Confluence Cloud. It comes with the following features.

  • Edit both - Storage Format and ADF

  • Code highlighting for better readability

  • Search and replace for bulk updates

  • Secure by design - built on Atlassian’s Forge platform, so your data never leaves Confluence

Why did we build it?

There are a few reasons why you might want to use Storage Format Editor for Confluence. But mainly it boils down to two main use cases-

  • Authoring tool

  • Support Tool

Authoring Tool

if you’re a content creator in Confluence it may be that you prefer to make page changes in code rather than through the editor provided by Atlassian. With the app installed, you can simply add and amend your page content using the app’s interface. With the app’s in-built code highlighting, any amendments to the code are easily readable.

Support Tool

You may be a user of one of our other apps, such as Scroll Viewport for Confluence, which specializes in publishing Confluence content into an Online Help Center.

However, from time-to-time it could be that you encounter unknown formatting issues in the published view. For instance, this can happen when copying content from other external sources into Confluence and this pasted content retaining some hidden or invisible problematic code when saving the page.

Therefore, if you’re familiar with coding you can use Storage Format Editor for Confluence to quickly check a Confluence page and make any necessary changes - such as removing unwanted colour codes that are associated with your text.

However, don’t worry if you don’t have coding experience as you can also reach out to our K15t support and we can help.

Additionally, if you have created a support case with us and there is a need for our support team to reproduce a problem that you’re having with a certain page, you can easily copy and paste the storage format for the affected page into a text file and then share this with us → this can help us to deliver quicker support without the need for generating any page exports from Confluence.
